What Is The Difference
Between The Various Types Of Ink Cartridges?
Ever heard terms like "OEM" or "Generic
Ink Cartridges" when looking to buy new ink for your inkjet printer?
Ever wonder what the difference is between the various ink cartridges
and which is better for your inkjet printer?
Understanding the difference between each
ink cartridge is really not that complicated. Ink jet printer cartridges
are basically broken up into different standards.
There are three types of
ink cartridges to choose from when replacing the ink for your
ink jet printer or
fax machine.
 |
OEM ink
cartridges are Original Equipment Manufacturer cartridges. Usually they
have the brand name on the cartridge.
|
 |
Remanufactured
ink cartridges are brand name cartridges that were previously depleted
once then cleaned up and refilled with the original manufacturer's
identical ink formulation.
|
 | Generic ink cartridges are made by a
company other than the OEM. They match the specifications of the
original manufacture but they are generally sold at a lower price. |
Ink cartridges are divided up into these
three categories. The inkjet quality should remain high. But the price
you pay for your ink cartridge refills can vary depending on the
standard you choose.
